BRIGITTE Employee Study 2022 lists the best companies for women
Ofa Bamberg GmbH is one of the best companies for women in Germany. This was the result of a study by the BRIGITTE Academy. The Bamberg-based medical aid manufacturer scored particularly well in terms of flexible working hours, the proportion of women among managers and a transparent and fair salary structure.
New Work, women's quota, job sharing and working from home: the world of work was already changing before the pandemic. The new opportunities promise more freedom and flexibility for all employees, but especially for women and mothers. BRIGITTE investigated how German companies deal with the issue of equality and, together with TERRITORY Embrace, set out to find the best companies for women for the fifth time this year. Measures for a healthy work-life balance, work flexibility, career development measures and the importance of transparency and equality were analyzed. The companies were awarded between one and five points in each area. A total of 167 out of 281 companies received top ratings of four or five stars. One of them: the medical aid manufacturer Ofa Bamberg GmbH. The company's employer branding team led by Steffi Schwitalla-Worsch, who has been working on the employer brand for several years, enthusiastically reads through the BRIGITTE issue in which the study results were published.

Flexibility, women's power and transparency
The survey shows that a lot has changed in terms of work flexibility: Almost all companies surveyed (98%) now offer the option of working from home - in 2018, the figure was 86%. Ofa Bamberg GmbH enables its employees to work from home and to arrange individual working time models wherever their work allows, even after the pandemic. For many employees, working overtime from home is the order of the day. Ofa Bamberg GmbH is counteracting this by strictly limiting extra hours.
While there is still some catching up to do in terms of the proportion of women in management positions nationwide, Ofa Bamberg GmbH employs 56% female managers. The proportion of women in the company in total is 70 percent. In order to ensure equality between men and women in terms of pay, Ofa Bamberg GmbH relies on clearly regulated and fair salary principles. For example, there are job profiles with a fixed level of compensation that employees are aware of. In addition, the salary structure is regularly analyzed.
The Ofa Bamberg GmbH employer branding team takes the good results of the BRIGITTE study as an incentive to work on further developing the employer brand so that the company remains an attractive employer in the region - regardless of gender.
