The acronym W-I-N-D stands for the German words Wertschätzung (appreciation), Innovation (innovation), Nachhaltigkeit (sustainability) and Digitalisierung (digitalization), which we value greatly in our company's vision. Quality
What we expect from our products
First-class quality, high medical efficacy and the long service life of our products are our top priority. We test and check every product extremely carefully. In order to maintain these high quality standards, we regularly have our company and our products certified by renowned testing and research institutions. These quality labels, test seals and certifications are proof of quality, but also signify the appreciation and recognition of our work and our products. We are proud that customers and patients can rely on us to provide them with effective and safe medical aids that help people to improve their quality of life.
Probably the most important certification for medical compression stockings is the RAL quality label: RAL-GZ 387/1 (medical compression stockings) and RAL-GZ 387/2 (medical compression arm sleeves). Compression stockings that are certified according to these world’s strictest test criteria may be covered by statutory health insurance.
The Hohenstein Research Institute tests the pressure curve of medical compression stockings using a special device called HOSYcan and decides whether the stockings receive the RAL quality label.
We have owned a HOSY ourselves since 1991 so that we can carry out regular tests ourselves. We now even have a second device in use, which provides even more precise information about the compression effect.
The OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 is a globally recognized label for textiles. It guarantees that the products have been tested for harmful substances and are harmless to health.
The textile raw materials as well as the final products are tested for legally prohibited and regulated substances and harmful chemicals.
A distinction is made between four product classes. The more intensive the skin contact of the textiles, the stricter the requirements. As textiles with predominantly direct skin contact, medical compression stockings belong to product class II.
With certifications according to globally valid ISO standards, companies prove certain quality standards. Our quality management is certified in accordance with the DIN EN ISO 9001 (general) and 13485 (medical devices) standards. This ensures that all processes in the company are documented and optimized by paying attention to intensive supplier management and systematic incoming goods inspections and by monitoring items on the market.
All our medical devices bear the CE mark, which confirms compliance with the European Medical Device Directive (MDR). Important for customers: The so-called declarations of conformity and further information on handling our products in the context of the MDR can be found here.
