For more than 90 years, we have been successfully developing, producing and distributing medical aids, including compressive support stockings, compression stockings, travel and vitality stockings as well as orthopaedic supports and orthoses. Every day, our products help people all over the world to cope with chronic illnesses or to recover more quickly from injuries. Ofa
Ofa is the largest division within Ofa Bamberg GmbH. Ofa supplies the medical supply market with compression stockings for people with venous disorders, lipoedema or lymphoedema, travel stockings as well as supports and orthoses. Ofa has a clear claim for all its products: maximum comfort and good looks with high medical effectiveness. Today's medical supply retailer is more than just a “prescription receiving point”: Ofa has therefore developed a concept comprising the five building blocks of product range, service, marketing, know-how and networking, thus supporting its customers in positioning themselves as a trustworthy local healthcare retailer.
The numerous partners abroad also play a key role in the company's success: Ofa exports to over 40 countries worldwide.
BELSANA - our strong brand in the pharmacy
At BELSANA, 67 employees support pharmacies throughout Germany with the pharmacy-exclusive sale of compression stockings and medical compression stockings. The on-site pharmacy provides expert advice to patients and anyone who wants to do something good for their legs - in line with the BELSANA motto “Legs in top form”. The more than 500 BELSANA VeinCenters throughout Germany with specially trained experts in venous diseases and compression stockings play an important role in this.
Spring® medical – making compression simple
Spring® medical is a BELSANA brand and is available at pharmacies and medical supply stores in Germany. Spring® medical has set itself the task of making medical compression stockings as simple and uncomplicated as possible. The over-the-counter compressive support stockings SKYSOCKS and YOURSPRING vitality stockings round off the range.
Push – unconventional solutions for more freedom of movement
The Push brand from our Dutch subsidiary NEA International stands for freedom: the freedom to move without pain or restrictions. Inspired by the Coumans tape support, Push has been developing unconventional supports and orthoses since 1986 - always with the aim of providing targeted stability with maximum freedom of movement. A strong research and development team finds new ways for the functional treatment of joint injuries. The focus is always on comfort and ease of use for patients.
Bamberg
The majority of our more than 640 employees work at our Bamberg site. After we found a new home in Bamberg in 1948, we initially produced in the attic of the Schlenkerla brewery and built a modern production facility for compression stockings and supports there. After further stops in Bamberg, we built a new company headquarter on the newly developed industrial estate on Laubanger in the mid-1980s. In 2004, an automated small parts warehouse was built behind the production building.
Another milestone was celebrated in 2024: In the middle of the year, the biomass plant was put into operation, with which we produce almost climate-neutrally at the Bamberg site.
Ofa Austria
Ofa Austria, our Austrian subsidiary, was founded in 1994 and is based in beautiful Salzburg. 26 employees at Ofa Austria are responsible for selling travel and vitality stockings, sports compression and medical compression stockings as well as orthopaedic products to men and women in Austria. They are very successful in doing so, as Ofa Austria is the market leader in Austria.
Glauchau
A stroke of luck for us: In 2015, Ofa Bamberg acquired a production facility of around 20,000 square meters from the textile company Esda GmbH in Glauchau, Saxony - including staff and inventory. With the site in Glauchau, we are continuing to focus on “Made in Germany” and knit, manufacture, pack and store some of our high-quality phlebological and orthopaedic aids there.
Ofa Bamberg and INDUS Holding AG
Since 2000, we have been part of INDUS Holding AG, an investment company based in Bergisch Gladbach, Germany, which unites more than 40 medium-sized companies from the engineering, infrastructure and materials sectors under one roof. Most of the companies are considered hidden champions that are successful in niche markets. INDUS focuses on long-term investments and specifically promotes sustainability and innovation in its portfolio companies. Ofa Bamberg GmbH is one of the largest companies with the most employees within INDUS Holding AG.
